MP Gerretsen announces federal funding for local businesses

Funds part of major investment in Kingston businesses

MP Mark Gerretsen paid a visit to SnapCab in Kingston on Wednesday for a major funding announcement. After a quick tour of the facility, Gerretsen announced that SnapCab would be part of the FedDev Ontario funding.

Gerretsen says this funding will benefit SnapCab as they look toward the future.

 

CEO Glenn Bostock was thrilled to have the support of the Government.

 

Other local businesses will receive a portion of the funding.

 

SnapCab, incorporated in 2011 in Kingston, designs and manufactures customizable privacy and video remand pods in Canada, delivering top-tier soundproofing, flexibility, and modularity for modern workspaces.

  • Cancoil Thermal Corporation
    • The Kingston company will scale its manufacturing capabilities for cooling products and enhance its competitiveness to serve many sectors.

  • Kingston Frameworks
    • The company will adopt new equipment to gain manufacturing and logistical capabilities and achieve operational efficiencies as it expands into new markets.
    • $125,000
  • OPTT Inc.
    • The Kingston company will accelerate the commercialization of its online mental health technology solutions.   
    • $1,000,000
  • Spectra Plasmonics Inc.
    • The Kingston company will adopt automation technologies to achieve efficiencies as it scales its nanofabrication of its diagnostic chip to help make point of care testing more accessible and affordable.
