MP Scott Reid discusses federal election, economy, and wealth inequality

He stresses candidates need to listen to voters

Lanark Frontenac Kingston MP Scott Reid was in Verona recently to help celebrate Scottish poet Robbie Burns birthday. 

KingstonDaily.ca asked him about a federal election, which could come as soon as the spring. 

While he hoped voters would frame the discussion at the door steps, he admitted that one of the key items will be Canada's economy, particularly the federal government's debt.

He stressed that candidates need to listen to voters rather than assume their parties' messaging will resonate with them.

The MP also pointed to the inequities in weatlh among Canadians as a major concern, citing the problem is getting worse not better for many Canadians

Reid will once again be carrying the Conservative banner looking to win a seat he's held for the last 25 years.
