Stiles takes aim at Ford's leadership

Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles visited Kingston on Tuesday to launch the party’s new campaign office, alongside Kingston and The Islands candidate Elliot Goodell Ugalde.

During her speech, Stiles criticized Premier Doug Ford, claiming his leadership has left Ontario vulnerable.

She highlighted issues such as food inflation, affordable housing, and health care, stressing that the province needs a strong, united approach to protect against U.S. tariffs.

Stiles also emphasized the importance of real rent control to protect renters and pledged to build more affordable homes.

Ugalde echoed her concerns, noting that homeownership is unattainable for his generation, with many in Kingston struggling with food insecurity and poverty.

He called for more support for internationally trained physicians and increased fiscal transparency from Queen’s University, demanding they fairly compensate workers.
