New app update makes it easier for newcomers to settle in Kingston

Kingston Immigration Partnership continues to help

Newcomers to Kingston can now access improved resources with updates to the Welcome to Kingston app. The Kingston Immigration Partnership (KIP) and Welcome Platform Technologies have enhanced the app to provide better support for people settling in the city.

Since launching in 2023, the app has helped over 800 users find key information on healthcare, housing, childcare, and jobs. The latest updates include AI-powered chat assistance, a better search function, easier navigation, and a fresh design.

Available in 16 languages, the app removes barriers by offering resources in multiple languages. Developed with input from local agencies and newcomers, it aims to make Kingston more inclusive and welcoming.

Created by Ontario-based Welcome Platform Technologies, the app is free to download on all major app stores. It serves as a vital tool to help newcomers adjust, connect with services, and build a sense of belonging in Kingston.
