New health services announced to improve access for KFL&A residents

Public health improves once again

Two new health initiatives are launching in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) to improve access to essential services. At their most recent Board of Health meeting, Dr. Piotr Oglaza, KFL&A Medical Officer of Health introduced a mobile dental clinic and an infant feeding clinic.

The mobile dental clinic, currently in a "soft launch" phase, provides a fully equipped dental office on wheels, including X-ray services. This service, part of the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program, will officially begin in 2025 and aims to offer dental care to seniors in under-served areas. Board member Dr. David Pattenden also suggested using it to promote the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

The infant feeding clinic, located at LARC EarlyON Centre in Napanee, will operate every Wednesday and offers support from a certified lactation consultant. By aligning with other community programs, it creates a one-stop location for new parents.

These new services reflect KFL&A’s commitment to equitable access for all residents.
