An indoor sports facility is coming to Kingston.
Council agreed to sell off 4.4 acres in the St. Lawrence Business Park to Kingston Multisport Investment Group Ltd. to build a 65,000 sqft facility which'll house four fields to accommodate grass and turf sports in the winter months.
There'll also be a snack bar, a medical/physio office, viewing areas, office spaces and meeting rooms, as well as a multi-purpose space.
Soccer coach and Kingston and District Sports Hall of Fame member Victor Mendes says this facility fills a much needed gap.
He noted that doesn't even account for the rugby, football, baseball, and ultimate frisbee players who'll make use of the facility.
The site will also provide an economic boom to the city, according to Mendes.
No construction timeline was discussed at the meeting.
