New system promises better health care in southeastern Ontario

Much better communication from start to finish

Six health-care organizations in southeastern Ontario continue to adapt to Lumeo, a shared health information system aimed at improving patient care for 650,000 residents.

Lumeo securely connects electronic medical records across Brockville General Hospital, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Lennox and Addington County General Hospital, and others. The system provides quick access to test results, health histories, and appointments, promising greater care efficiency.

A HealtheLife patient portal is set to launch in mid-2025, offering additional convenience for patients.

While staff transition to Lumeo, emergency services remain unaffected, and non-urgent care continues at community health centers.

Officials are asking the public for patience as they continue to get used to the system.
