Concerns raised over new Wolfe Island Ferry
The Ministry of Transportation says that after more than 140 weeks since the new Wolfe Islander IV arrived in Kingston, it will finally begin service on August 17th.
The new ferry will initially dock at Dawson Point instead of the new Marysville dock. Also, the new schedule will see fewer daily trips compared to the current Wolfe Islander III.
Although the new ferry can transport 50% more vehicles, residents are concerned about efficiency and prefer to use the old ferry until infrastructure improvements are completed.
Residents are now being surveyed after reports of widespread disappointment with the new schedule. It's not known if that will result in a change.
