Praises Doctor Ma for her work

The Ontario Medical Association has responded in the case of a local Doctor being asked to return hundreds of thousands of dollars after deeming mass COVID-19 clinics run by Dr. Elaine Ma, shouldn't have been covered.

The OMA says Kingston's physician-led mass vaccination clinics, organized by Dr. Elaine Ma, helped the community become the most vaccinated in Ontario during the pandemic.

Supported by Public Health and local hospitals, the clinics overcame challenges like inclement weather and holidays, vaccinating over 35,000 Ontarians.

Despite this success, concerns over the billing process raised questions from OHIP. The province is asking for more than $600,000 to be returned.

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) District 7 is urging the Ministry of Health to address these concerns and dismiss the allegations.

The OMA is calling for a swift resolution, so that physicians can focus on patient care.

They also note that Dr. Ma, and the community's efforts remain a proud example of collaboration and dedication during the pandemic.
