Ontario college faculty union warns of strike as January 4th deadline looms

St. Lawrence College included

The union representing Ontario's college faculty, OPSEU, has announced it will be in a legal strike position as of January 4th.

OPSEU said that mediation with the colleges’ bargaining agents earlier this month failed to resolve key issues, including concerns about job security, working conditions, and the quality of education.

The union has warned that if an agreement is not reached, a strike could happen after providing five days' notice.

The situation has raised concerns about disruptions to college programs across the province, affecting students and faculty.

OPSEU says it is committed to protecting members’ rights and improving conditions in the sector.
