Ontario invests millions to upgrade postsecondary infrastructure in Kingston

Cash infusion for Queen's, St. Lawrence

Right before the election campaign began, the Ontario government announced it is investing $228 million to enhance postsecondary institutions across the province, aiming to provide students with world-class education. 

In Kingston, Queen’s University will receive $7.14 million, including $6.14 million for the Facilities Renewal Program and $1 million for the Training Equipment Renewal Fund. 

St. Lawrence College, which just announced sweeping program cuts, is set to receive $3.43 million, with $3.12 million allocated to the Facilities Renewal Program and $312,000 for college equipment upgrades.

The province says the funding will help modernize infrastructure and provide the latest learning tools, ensuring that Ontario students have access to cutting-edge education. 

The announcement emphasized that investing in state-of-the-art facilities is a key part of delivering high-quality learning experiences that will support the next generation of leaders and professionals.
