Election date called in 4-weeks
Ontario voters will go to the polls on February 27, 2025, after Premier Doug Ford confirmed the dissolution of the 43rd Parliament.
Lieutenant Governor Edith Dumont accepted Ford’s advice and signed a proclamation to dissolve Parliament effective January 28 at 4:00 p.m.. Under the Election Act, writs for the general election will be issued on January 29, 2025.
This election will determine Ontario’s next government, with parties set to launch full campaigns. Voters across the province will have one month to decide who will lead Ontario’s future.
