Team holding first ever training camp outside of the capitol
For the first time in franchise history, the Ottawa RedBlacks will hold their spring training camp outside of Ottawa.
The CFL team is set to train at Queen’s University’s Richardson Stadium in May 2025.
“We are excited for the opportunity to come together at Queen’s,” said RedBlacks General Manager Shawn Burke. “Their first-class facilities will help us prepare for the 2025 season.”
Richardson Stadium was upgraded in 2023 with the Lang Pavilion, featuring a state-of-the-art locker room. Queen’s Athletics & Recreation Executive Director Linda Melnick said the partnership connects grassroots, university, and professional football.
Players will stay in Queen’s residences and eat at university dining halls. The camp begins May 11, with open practices and a Fan Fest on May 17.
“This is a big moment for Kingston football,” said Queen’s Head Coach Steve Snyder. “Hosting a CFL team here is special for our athletes and the community.”
