Police raid in Kingston leads to three arrests and drug seizure

Three face charges

Kingston Police arrested three people after a drug raid at an apartment near Dalton Avenue and Division Street on Jan. 29. Officers seized fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and a shotgun.

An 18-year-old from the Greater Toronto Area faces trafficking charges and was already accused of assault with a weapon in Huronia West. A 20-year-old with no Kingston ties also faces trafficking charges. A 54-year-old Kingston resident, already on release for previous drug charges, was charged again.

The raid, carried out by the Street Crime Unit with help from the Emergency Response Unit, highlights the city's ongoing battle against fentanyl. Police say drug activity in high-rise apartments raises safety concerns.

All three suspects remain in custody pending a bail hearing. Kingston Police encourage the public to report drug activity online. Detective Sergeant Shawn Birney can be reached at 613-549-4660 (Ext. 6323).
