Police stop stolen SUV after chase Near Kingston

It took some effort, Police stopped a stolen vehicle after a high-speed chase through Central Frontenac on October 23.

The incident started around 10 p.m. when officers from Frontenac OPP responded to a family dispute. A driver involved in the dispute had taken a stolen Mazda SUV from a Kingston home earlier in the evening.

The driver sped southbound on Road 38 toward Kingston, with police searching the area. A citizen reported the SUV driving fast along Graham Road and pulling into a farm field.

Police used three tire deflation devices to slow the vehicle, but the driver continued driving on flat tires toward Harrowsmith. Officers eventually stopped the SUV using a rolling block technique.

Two police vehicles were slightly damaged, but no one was hurt.

Victoria Clayton, 37, of Kingston, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, fleeing police, and possession of stolen property over $5,000. She remains in custody, with a bail hearing set for October 24 in Kingston.
