The newly opened centre has received funding through the City Primary Care Clinic Grant to hire staff
The newly opened Princess Street Medical Centre has received a significant boost through the City Primary Care Clinic Grant, enabling the facility to expand its staffing and increase patient capacity.
The funds will be used to hire additional administrative staff, a registered nurse, and a physician assistant, allowing the clinic to welcome 1,000 new patients to its roster. This expansion will ease the administrative burden on family physicians and improve access to care for both new and existing patients.
Councillor Vincent Cinanni, who played a key role in securing the grant, emphasized the importance of the clinic's growth for the Williamsville community. “This funding is greatly needed for our community,” Cinanni stated.
Since November 2023, the clinic has been rostering patients through Health Care Connect, already enrolling 1,850 individuals. The grant ensures that the clinic can continue to accommodate the growing demand for primary care services in the area.
Dr. Lili Mileva, a physician at the clinic, highlighted the impact of the grant: “The funding from the City of Kingston has significantly enhanced our services. We are now able to provide more comprehensive care, addressing both physical and mental health needs more effectively.”
