There are lots of skilled workers right here in Kingston!
Local businesses looking for skilled workers can now apply for the 2025 Queen’s Career Apprenticeship: Kingston (QCAK) program. The initiative, run in partnership with the Canadian Career Apprenticeship Initiative, helps employers hire recent Queen’s University graduates in arts, humanities, and social sciences.
The program offers up to $10,000 to support hiring and on-the-job training. Organizers say it helps businesses stay competitive while encouraging graduates to launch their careers in Kingston.
Since 2018, QCAK has helped over 50 graduates find jobs, contributing more than $2.7 million in new payroll. Employers praise the program for reducing training costs and attracting top talent.
“It’s a great program to help employers who are recruiting and to keep talent in Kingston,” said Kostas Doulas of Rogers & Trainor.
Applications are now open. Businesses can learn more at www.investkingston.ca/qcak.
