Queen’s Family Health Team gets $100K to connect 1,200 patients to care

Fewer in Kingston will be seeking primary care

The Queen’s Family Health Team has received a $100,000 grant from the City of Kingston to help connect 1,200 patients without family doctors to primary care.

City councillors Brandon Tozzo and Gregory Ridge presented the cheque through Kingston’s Primary Care Clinic Expansion Grant. The funding will support the clinic’s New Patient Intake Initiative, which makes it easier to bring on new patients and update records.

“This grant will help us attach more people to essential care and improve community health,” said the Queen’s Family Health Team in a statement.

Councillor Gregory Ridge called the investment a big step in addressing Kingston’s growing health care needs. “This grant will make a real difference for 1,200 residents,” he said.

The Primary Care Clinic Grant is a municipal initiative to increase care for unattached patients. For more updates, visit CityofKingston.ca/PhysicianRecruitment.
