With all our tracks, it's good to stay current
Rail Safety Week is taking place across Canada from September 23-29, 2024, reminding everyone to stay safe around the many sets of railway tracks in Kingston and the surrounding area.
Whether you're walking, driving, biking, or using recreational vehicles, it's important to be cautious near railways.
Over the last decade, more than 85% of rail-related deaths and injuries in Canada have been caused by vehicle collisions at crossings or trespassing on railway property. By staying alert and following rail safety guidelines, we can help reduce these tragic incidents.
Remember to obey all signals, never trespass on tracks, and always stop, look, and listen at crossings. Simple actions can save lives.
Let’s make rail safety a priority this week—and every week—because your safety matters.
