Reckless driver arrested after Midtown Kingston collision

Kingston Police report that on Saturday, July 6, at 10:20 p.m., a collision occurred on Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard in midtown Kingston.

A family driving northbound was struck by an individual attempting to pass them via the center grass median. The accused swerved back into the lane, hit the family's vehicle, lost control, and collided with a tree on the east side of the roadway.

Despite the damage, the accused tried to flee but was immobilized when the vehicle’s front wheel fell off.

Police arrived and arrested the 49-year-old local individual around 11:10 p.m. The driver was charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance and leaving the scene of an accident without offering assistance.

They were later released with a future court date.
