Promoting community spirit
A new funding opportunity is now available to support rural events and initiatives in Kingston.
The Rural Community Program Fund will provide five successful applicants with up to $5,000 each to support creative projects that build community spirit and attract visitors.
The initiative is now open to rural community groups, event organizers, volunteer organizations, and business partnerships.
Projects eligible for funding include new or enhanced events like concerts and festivals, recreational activities, cultural initiatives, community beautification, and tourism projects.
Tracey Snow, Manager of Rural Economic & Community Development, emphasized the potential to showcase Kingston’s rural areas and strengthen community connections. The application period closes on April 21, and projects will be evaluated based on community impact, feasibility, collaboration, and tourism potential.
