Rustle Free Methodist Church has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the United Way KFLA Community Investment Fund (CIF) to support its Accessibility Project.
The grant will help fund renovations to the church, including an accessible bathroom, doors, and ramp.
The work will improve access for individuals with mobility challenges, making it easier for them to participate in community programs and services.
The church, located at the corner of Russell and Patrick Streets, has served the local community since it was established in a former Polish Community Hall in the 1960s. It focuses on supporting individuals affected by addictions, mental health issues, and poverty.
While the grant covers half of the $50,000 renovation cost, Rustle Church is actively fundraising to secure the remaining funds. Donations can be made via the church’s Canada Helps Campaign page.
