Kingston Police detectives are investigating an incident in which a man approached a teenage girl at a central city business, requesting she join him.

On June 7th, around 8:00 p.m., a 15-year-old girl was alone inside a store at the Kingston Centre. She noticed an adult male in the parking lot looking in her direction before he approached her in the toy aisle. The man asked if she lived in Kingston and sought her recommendation for a pub or licensed establishment in town. He then asked if she would accompany him.

Feeling uncomfortable, the teenager went to the front of the store and informed a manager. Store staff checked the area, but the man had already left. A description and video surveillance footage were obtained. The male is described as South Asian, tall, with a slim build, short hair, and wearing blue jeans, blue or grey sneakers with white soles, and a blue t-shirt with a yellow graphic and white lettering on the chest.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying this individual or determining any locations he may frequent. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Carolyn Gauthier via email at cgauthier@kingstonpolice.ca or by calling 613-549-4660 ext. 6306.
