Special Fire Fighter bike ride stops in Kingston

The group is enroute to Ottawa for a special service

The 8th annual Firefighter Memorial Bike Ride made a stop in Kingston Thursday evening.

This is a three day, 575-kilometre bike ride featuring 67 firefighters from across Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland.

We spoke with Ride Coordinator and President of the Toronto Fire Celtic Society, David Cossitt, as they made their way to Kingston Fire Station 6.

Their ride began Wednesday in Hamilton and will end Friday afternoon in Ottawa at the National Firefighters Memorial, where a record number of firefighters are being added to the memorial.

One way they're honouring these firefighters while on their ride is with tags featuring their names that are on their bicycles.

Donations can be made at CelticFireRide.ca, where supporters can pick a rider to contribute towards.
