City set to ask Province to back off bike lane control plan
Kingston council unanimously supported AMO calling on the province to back off from their plan to take the decision making on adding or removing cycling lanes from municipalities hands.
Councillor Brandon Tozzo openly questioned the priorities of Premier Doug Ford.
Councillor Gregory Ridge seemed frustrated this was a conversation they were even forced to have.
Tozzo said the provincial announcement is more about a shifting of votes for the next election than actual policy, and suggested the province stay in their own lane and out of theirs.
