Here's what the city is saying
We know the drill by now. A long-weekend hits and not everything is open on the holiday. Thanksgiving is no different. The City of Kingston is arming residents with information.
Garbage, Green Bin, and Recycling:
There will be no collection on October 14. Collections will occur the day after your regular schedule. Residents can sign up for collection reminders via phone, push notifications, or email, or download the free “Kingston Waste” app.
Kingston Area Recycling Centre:
Closed on Monday.
Kingston Transit:
Operating on a Sunday schedule, with Express routes 501/502 and 701/702 running every 30 minutes, and Route 4 every 60 minutes.
Kingston Access Services:
Limited service on Monday. Call 613-542-2512 for details.
Administrative Offices:
Closed, including Housing and Social Services, and Provincial Offences.
Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro:
Closed on Monday. For utility emergencies (gas smell, power outage, water main break), call 613-546-1181. Check UtilitiesKingston.com for holiday electricity pricing.
Recreation Facilities:
All facilities, including the INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, and community centres, will be closed. The Kingston Frontenac Public Library is closed, but online services are available.
Marinas:
Confederation Basin Marina’s office is closed, while fueling stations at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour remain open.
Other Facilities:
The Kingston Grand Theatre Box Office and the PumpHouse Museum will also be closed. The Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning is closed on Monday.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and enjoy a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend.
