The holiday season is a tough time for Canadian Blood Services.

Here's how you can help

In the last two weeks of December and the first week of January, people's routines change, and many are focused on holiday activities. This can make them forget that donor centres are still open and donations are still needed. Since blood products don't last forever, regular donations are essential to keep the supply fresh and available.

Debbi Barfoot encourages everyone to consider donating.

The Kingston donor centre, 850 Gardiners Rd, will be open December 24th 11am - 2 m, December 26th 9am - 1pm, December 28th 9am - 2pm, December 31st 10am - 2pm and January 1st 3pm - 7pm.

Barfoot says those who donate help keep Canada’s lifeline going.

Barfoot added that 450 donors are needed this month to keep up with the rising need. More details at blood.ca.
