United Way KFL&A launches annual winter coat drive

Help warm up the season for someone in need

As temperatures drop, the United Way KFL&A is kicking off its fourth annual Coats for Community drive to help residents stay warm this winter.

Community members are encouraged to donate clean, new, or gently used adult winter coats between October 26 and November 18. Donations must be washable, with no leather or heavy wool, and in good condition.

Collection bins are available at several locations, including the United Way office, Kingston City Hall, local library branches, and select Starbucks stores.

Volunteers will sort and distribute the donated coats to agencies across Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington. Financial donations are also accepted to help purchase specialty-size coats for those in need.

Last year’s drive collected over 1,300 coats, which went directly to support vulnerable residents. United Way hopes the community will step up once again to help keep everyone warm this winter.
