Waiting game for Public Health merger

KFL&A Public Health says they're waiting on the province

KFL&A Public Health continues merger discussions with two other health units in the region.

Medical officer of health, Peter Oglaza says work is underway, but all involved agree its a good move.

In addition to our health unit the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit and Hastings Prince Edward Public Health are involved in the talks.

The Doctor says the three health units have done their part and submitted all necessary information to the Ministry of Health.

While Dr. Oglaza would like to share more information, he just can't at the moment as they're playing the waiting game.

All three health units are in favour of the move which the province hopes will bolster services and save money.
