Wear purple and support epilepsy awareness with local fundraisers this March

Over 5,500 people in the region are affected, and this month aims to break stigma and build community support

March is Epilepsy Awareness Month, and Epilepsy South Eastern Ontario (ESEO) is leading the charge with events to educate, support, and raise funds for those living with epilepsy. Over 5,500 people in the region are affected, and this month aims to break stigma and build community support.

Purple Day on March 26 is a global epilepsy awareness day. People are encouraged to wear purple, spread awareness, and start conversations about epilepsy.

ESEO is hosting several fundraisers:

  • March 14: Kingston Frontenacs Fundraiser (Game vs. Peterborough Petes)
  • March 23: Bowling for Epilepsy at Limestone Lanes (12 PM – 3 PM)
  • March 7, 14, 21, 26, and 28: Coffee Way Donuts selling purple donuts in support of epilepsy awareness

Epilepsy is a neurological condition affecting 1 in 100 Canadians. Many face stigma, mental health challenges, and isolation. ESEO provides advocacy, education, and resources to help individuals and families navigate life with epilepsy.
