A new Leger poll sheds light on our thoughts
A recent Leger poll reveals mixed opinions among Ontarians regarding government intervention in the ongoing LCBO strike. Less than a third of respondents, totaling 29%, support provincial interference to swiftly reopen stores using binding arbitration or legislation. In contrast, 44% oppose such measures.
The poll also gauged support for the striking union's demands. Nearly half of those surveyed, 49%, expressed backing for the union's objectives, which include wage increases and more permanent positions. Meanwhile, 25% indicated a lack of support for these goals.
The strike has garnered widespread awareness across Ontario, with 89% of respondents reporting knowledge of the situation. However, only 15% claimed personal impact from the labor dispute.
Conducted over the past weekend, the Leger poll queried 601 residents via online surveys, though it notes that such polls lack a margin of error due to non-random sampling methods.
