Stay safe this winter with these important reminders
As winter's icy grip tightens on Canadian roads, drivers are urged to brush up on safety tips to navigate slick streets and unpredictable conditions.
Police Chief Scott Fraser share with us that the biggest thing they see in the transition from fall driving to winter driving, is people not leaving themselves enough time.
If the weather is bad and the road conditions are worse, Chief Fraser suggests that's not the best day to go on a drive for that cup of coffee. Maybe you go buy your groceries on Thursdays, but you see bad weather in the forecast for Thursday. If that's the case, plan ahead and be prepared.
The Chief noted they typically see a decrease in collisions during winter because motorists are more focused on their driving.
Giving yourself plenty of time, having good tires, and driving carefully is a recipe for success during the winter months.
