$57K raised for prevention fund
Youth Diversion marked its 50th anniversary on August 15, with a special fundraising dinner that raised over $57,000 for the "Kids Can't Wait" Prevention Fund.
Founded in 1974 as the Frontenac Diversion Program by Judge George Thomson, with support from Dick and Sherry Barnhorst, the organization has positively impacted over 30,000 children, youth, and families across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Hastings, and Prince Edward Counties.
Youth Diversion offers mentoring, educational support, mediation, outreach, and addiction services. With the help of over 2,500 volunteers contributing more than 75,000 hours, the organization continues to be a vital community resource.
The event was supported by sponsors like Alliance Wireless and RDR Wealth Management, as well as 30 local businesses. Special thanks went to the Kinsmen Club of Kingston for their donation, making the dinner a success.
