Rainfall Warning

Heavy downpours from Hurricane Beryl expected Wednesday and Thursday

We might be in for some whacky and wet weather over the next couple of days.

Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for the region, with torrential downpours expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

The forecast is calling for rates of 20 to 40 mm per hour at times.

Officials say the storm system is associated with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl, but does note the exact track of the weather system remains somewhat uncertain.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
