Aspiring food producers and business owners are invited to take part.
Aspiring food producers and business owners looking to scale up their operations in Kingston and South Frontenac now have access to vital resources and expert guidance.
Following a successful event in April 2024, a full-day training session is set to support those interested in growing or starting their own food production businesses.
Participants will gain access to three commercial kitchens in Kingston and a community hall in South Frontenac. The event will provide essential guidance on food production, navigating regulatory requirements, understanding food safety, and marketing strategies to get products onto shelves. Step-by-step support covers everything from renting commercial kitchen space to adhering to food safety standards.
Ideal for both new entrepreneurs and those with existing food products, the event features insights from representatives from the City of Kingston, South Frontenac, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, KFLA Public Health, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Tickets are $20 per person and include lunch options (with vegetarian choices), free parking, and available accommodations. Limited spots mean early registration is encouraged. Contact Amber Bryant-Peller at ABryant-Peller@CityofKingston.ca or 343-363-0714 for more information or to secure a spot.
