What's good in Kingston? Cantabile Choirs

Bridging Divides and Expanding Horizons

Cantabile is a community based performing arts and music education organization in Kingston founded in 1996. They started as a small community choral group and Artistic Executive Director Geoffrey Sirett explains how those seeds have blossomed

They welcome voices of all ages, being a truly inclusive family.

Their inter-generational view sees them regularly performing at seniors' centres and long-term care facilities.

Music, especially that created by community groups, is a crucial part of society, and is more important than ever in today's challenging times as Geoffrey puts explains.

As a charitable organization, Cantabile is able to offer bursaries and scholarships to help overcome financial barriers for both participants and audience members. Their singers perform regularly in the area with their latest production Fantastic Beasts; Songs of Pure Imagination happening on May 11th at 2:30 pm at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.
