Still time to sign up for new or returning players
The turn of the season means local minor football players are gearing up for a new season with the Thousand Islands Minor Football League.
The league, which covers Kingston through Gananoque, is now accepting players, both new and returning. Spokesperson Chad Haffie says the ranks are already filling up.
Haffie explains how the league works. He says all skill levels are welcome to their fields.
He adds their purpose is to help grow the sport as schools in our listening area have seen a drop in sign-ups. And he says equipment is provided which cuts down on costs for the players.
The First day is April 5th, which is the League's day at Queen's University, known as "TIFL Day".
The league has been active for two decades 20 years, thanks to many dedicated volunteers.
You can get sign up information here. Haffie also encourages everyone to give the league a follow on their Facebook page too to get their latest updates.
