
Multiple charges laid against the two accused
UPDATE - Thursday, March 6, 2025: Kingston Police have arrested two men in connection with a downtown arson case.
On March 4, 2025, officers arrested 37-year-old Joel Echlin of Kingston. He faces several charges, including arson disregard for human life, possession of incendiary material, disguise with intent, mischief under $5000, and two counts of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
The next day, March 5, 2025, police arrested 30-year-old Kenneth Murphy of Kingston. He was charged with arson disregard for human life, possession of incendiary material, disguise with intent, and mischief under $5000. Murphy was also held for a bail hearing.

Original Article - Monday, March 3, 2025: Kingston Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in an arson that endangered lives in downtown Kingston.
On Friday, February 28, 2025, around 8:05 a.m., two individuals approached a business on Bagot Street, between Princess Street and Brock Street. They threw an incendiary device through the front of the building before fleeing the scene on bicycles.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen the suspects or who has security or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are working to identify those responsible. More updates will be provided as the case develops.
