Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles and Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie made campaign stops in Kingston over the weekend, rallying supporters ahead of Thursday’s provincial election.

Stiles spoke at Springer Market Square, focusing on health care, housing, and affordability. She criticized Premier Doug Ford’s government, promising a grocery rebate, universal school food program, and rent control if elected. Local candidate Elliot Goodell Ugalde raised concerns about hospital wait times, poverty, and reduced ferry service to Wolfe Island.

Crombie visited Ted Hsu’s campaign office, pledging tax cuts, hospital redevelopment, and lower housing costs by eliminating development charges. Hsu emphasized the need for better primary care recruitment and housing solutions.

Both leaders’ visits came as Kingston’s advanced polls saw 11,000 voters cast their ballots. With election day approaching, the battle for Kingston and The Islands remains in the spotlight.
