Kingston home invasion suspect granted bail

Scouten is now under strict house arrest conditions

A man accused in two violent home invasions in Kingston and on Wolfe Island has been granted bail under strict house arrest conditions.

Kurtis Scouten, 29, was arrested on Feb. 11, 2025, following a police raid in Kingston. He faces multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, break and enter, and using an imitation firearm.

Scouten’s bail conditions include living under house arrest with two sureties in Kingston, 24/7 supervision, a $10,000 surety per person, a $5,000 personal bond, and GPS monitoring upon release. He is also banned from contacting about 20 victims and cannot possess weapons.

The charges stem from two home invasions in August and September 2024, where multiple victims were injured. Police believe the attacks were targeted.

Kingston Police and the OPP continue their investigation. Authorities warn that any breach of bail conditions could result in Scouten’s immediate return to custody.
