Charges stem from an incident from August 2024
A Kingston Police officer has been charged with sexual assault following an independent investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service.
Sgt. Jason Alblas was charged on February 20, 2025, in connection to an off-duty incident that took place in August 2024.
Kingston Police first learned about the incident in October 2024 and requested an external investigation. Durham Regional Police took over the case and later arrested Alblas in Napanee.
Following his arrest, the officer was released with a future court date. He has been suspended from duty without pay under Ontario’s Community Safety and Policing Act.
