Kingston Police officers charged with assault

External probe conducted after off-duty incident

Two Kingston Police Special Constables have been charged following an external investigation by the Ottawa Police Service.

S/Cst. Chris Nadeau and S/Cst. Chad Mandigo were each charged with one count of assault and one count of aggravated assault on February 27. The charges relate to an on-duty incident in June 2024.

Kingston Police first became aware of the situation on July 3, 2024, and suspended both officers while an investigation took place. Ottawa Police were later brought in to conduct an independent review.

The Special Constables were arrested by Ottawa Police before being released with a future court date. Kingston Police confirmed that both remain suspended without pay.

No further details about the alleged assault have been released. Kingston Police say they are cooperating fully with the ongoing legal process.
