Kingston resident arrested after violent home invasions

The investigation by the Kingston Police and OPP is continuing

A Kingston resident has been arrested in connection with two violent home invasions in Kingston and Wolfe Island.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Kingston Police launched a joint investigation after two separate incidents in 2024. On August 22, residents on Wolfe Island were assaulted during a home invasion on Road 96. A month later, on September 23, a second home invasion occurred in Kingston near Frontenac and Brock Streets, leaving one person with life-threatening injuries and three others with non-life-threatening injuries.

On February 11, 2025, police executed a search warrant on Lasalle Boulevard in Kingston, leading to the arrest of 29-year-old Kurtis Scouten. He faces multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, break and enter, and using an imitation firearm.

Scouten remains in custody and is set to appear in court on February 19. The police investigation is ongoing.
