Local Liberal's posted about signs on public property, something not allowed in Kingston's bylaw.
The campaign for Kingston and the Islands federal Conservative candidate Bryan Paterson believes the issue of election signs on public property has been a misunderstanding.
The campaign for Liberal candidate Mark Gerretsen posted on Facebook that there were a number of Conservative signs placed on public property, something that is not allowed under the City of Kingston's bylaw.
Director of Communications for the Paterson campaign Phil Gaudreau told KingstonDaily.ca on Wednesday that they were made aware of a small number of the incorrect placement of the signs and were quickly addressed.
He adds the misplacement of signs occurs in every campaign and he, like the Gerretsen campaign, suggests people who see these signs other than on private property to contact the City's bylaw enforcement.
In a statement from the Paterson campaign, there has been an overwhelming demand for their signs and that they have placed two more orders to keep up with demand.
It goes on to say they want to focus on the real issues facing Kingstonians and Islanders and are looking forward to more opportunities to share a positive message of hope and change during this important election.
